In order to make sure your washing machine is not at risk for flooding/over-sudsing, only load the washing machine up until the maximum line, adjust the amount of detergent needed based on how soft or hard your water is, do not use too much oxygenated bleach, and check up on your washing machine regularly to make sure there is no residue that could potentially build up over time.
